This block is taken from the root collar of a burned stump adjacent to the Adams river. The flared base creates a dramatic print, which can be cropped to a range of paper sizes. The block itself is 27×50”.

This tree was lost in the 2023 Shuswap complex wildfire. The fire grew to a size of 45,613 hectares before cooler weather prevailed. Western redcedar is a medium- to large-sized evergreen, at maturity often with a forked (candelabra-like) top, a tapered fluted base as evidenced by the root flares seen in this print
